Set the counting rule

A rep count and set count answer different questions. If you also track weight, record it beside the set rather than assuming one weight for the entire session.

Put the rule into practice

WORKED EXAMPLE

Three sets of ten yield a set count of three; the rep counter can show the current set's progress.

Steps for a reliable tally

  1. Tap reps after each completed movement.
  2. When the set ends, increment the set counter and reset the rep counter if the next set starts at zero.
  3. After the set, compare the rep number with your training plan and mark whether the set was complete.
  4. Then prepare the rep counter for the next set.

Why this detail matters

For a circuit, separate exercise names as well as reps and sets. A count of ten push-ups should not roll into ten squats because both are movements. The app's quick-add chips and named counters can help set up repeated sessions, while the web tool works for a short workout.

During the session

Choose whether the rep counter displays the current set or the total workout before starting. Both are valid, but they answer different questions. If a rest break interrupts a set, leave the number as it is and continue only after checking the planned target and completed movements.

What can go wrong?

Counting a partial rep as complete can confuse your own training log.
